The form of this sculpture is a classic example of the Shona belief that in art, the spirit world is often represented by a hole in the sculpture, forming a portal into another dimension. The Leopard Stone he has used is especially unique in that it is only found in Zimbabwe. The black mottled blotches that give the creamy yellow coloured stone its name are fossilized remains of terrestrial vegetation.
